Grenada doesn't market itself as a "family destination" the way some Caribbean islands do — and that's actually a plus. There are no mega water parks or chain restaurants here. Instead, you get genuine experiences that kids (and adults) will remember forever: swimming under waterfalls, meeting Mona monkeys, making chocolate from scratch, and discovering beaches that feel like private islands.
Best Beaches for Families
Morne Rouge (BBC Beach) is the top choice for young kids — the water is calm, shallow, and warm, with no currents or waves. Grand Anse is also family-friendly, with gentle waves and beach bars that serve food. For something more adventurous, Bathway Beach in the north has a natural reef pool that's like a giant rock-protected paddling area.
Waterfalls & Swimming Holes
Annandale Falls is the easiest waterfall to reach with kids — a short walk from the parking area to a beautiful 30-foot cascade with a natural pool. Concord Falls is slightly more of an adventure. Seven Sisters requires a jungle hike (better for older kids, 8+). All three offer swimming in crystal-clear water surrounded by tropical vegetation.
Chocolate Making at Belmont Estate
Kids love making chocolate. At Belmont Estate, they can see cocoa growing on trees, watch the beans being fermented and dried, and get hands-on making their own chocolate bar. It's educational, interactive, and ends with a delicious take-home souvenir. Most kids rate it as the highlight of the trip.
Wildlife Encounters
Grand Etang National Park is home to Mona monkeys that often approach visitors near the visitor centre — kids are fascinated by them. During nesting season (March-August), Levera Beach hosts leatherback turtles laying eggs at night. The Underwater Sculpture Park can be explored by snorkeling — suitable for confident swimmers age 8+.
